š We recommend ALL dogs, cats, & rabbits be spayed or neutered before 5 months of age. Spay/neuter is preventive medicine and prevents suffering before it starts.

Breeder-purchased animals are not eligible. Please reserve funding for rescued and stray animals.
š How We Prioritize Our Resources
As a nonprofit, Kat Vet provides affordable spay/neuter services to reduce pet overpopulation.
Effective August 2026, dogs and cats obtained from a breeder are not eligible for spay/neuter services at Kat Vet.
If you choose to obtain a dog or cat from a breeder, we believe you are also able to budget for the cost of spay/neuter surgery through a full-service veterinary hospital.
National surveys show that about 20–25% of dogs are acquired from breeders, while approximately 75–80% are adopted from shelters or rescues, obtained from friends or family, or found as strays. By directing our limited resources toward rescued, adopted, stray, and community-owned animals, we can help more families who truly need affordable veterinary care while reducing pet overpopulation in our communities.
Animal shelters, 501(c)(3) rescue organizations, and community cat trappers should continue to schedule through text message or Facebook Messenger so we can prioritize these animals based on need and appointment availability.
