1️⃣ Have the pet scanned for a microchip as soon as possible.

2️⃣ Report the found pet to your local animal shelter or animal control agency.

4️⃣ Post the pet on local Facebook pages, especially lost-pet pages for your parish or town.

5️⃣ Keep the pet safe and secure while attempting to locate the owner. House the animal separately from your own pets.
